BLDR's photo documentation feature helps you capture, organize, and share job site photos with automatic timestamps, GPS coordinates, and project organization.

Taking Photos

From the Mobile App

  1. Open the BLDR app and select your project
  2. Tap Photos on the main menu
  3. Tap the camera icon to take a new photo
  4. Frame your shot and tap the capture button
  5. Add a caption describing what's in the photo
  6. Select a category or tag (optional)
  7. Tap Save

From Existing Photos

  1. Tap the gallery icon instead of camera
  2. Select photos from your device
  3. Add captions to each photo
  4. Tap Upload

Photo Metadata

BLDR automatically captures important metadata:

  • Date & Time - When the photo was taken
  • GPS Coordinates - Location where photo was taken
  • User - Who took the photo
  • Project - Associated project
  • Device Info - Camera/device used
GPS Accuracy

For accurate GPS data, enable location services for BLDR on your device. Photos taken without GPS will still save but won't have location data.

Organizing Photos

Categories

Create categories to organize photos by type:

  • Progress Photos
  • Safety Issues
  • Quality Control
  • Equipment
  • Materials
  • Before/After

Tags

Add tags to make photos easier to find:

  • Location tags (Building A, Floor 3)
  • Trade tags (Electrical, Plumbing)
  • Status tags (Complete, In Progress)

Viewing & Searching Photos

Find photos quickly using:

  • Date Range - Filter by when photos were taken
  • Category - Filter by photo type
  • Tags - Search by applied tags
  • User - See photos from specific team members
  • Caption Search - Search photo descriptions

Sharing Photos

Share photos with stakeholders:

  1. Select the photos you want to share
  2. Tap Share
  3. Choose your method:
    • Email - Send photos via email
    • Link - Generate a shareable link
    • PDF Report - Create a photo report

Photo Best Practices

Photo Tips
  • Take photos in good lighting conditions
  • Include reference objects for scale (measuring tape, person)
  • Write descriptive captions immediately
  • Take before, during, and after photos
  • Document issues as soon as they're discovered
  • Include wide shots and close-ups

Storage & Limits

Photo storage depends on your subscription:

  • Photos are stored securely in the cloud
  • High-resolution originals are preserved
  • Contact support if you need additional storage
