Welcome to BLDR! This guide will walk you through setting up your account and getting your team started with construction management.

Step 1: Account Setup

When you first sign up for BLDR, you'll receive a welcome email with your login credentials. Here's how to get started:

  1. Open the email from BLDR and click the Activate Account button
  2. Create a secure password for your account
  3. Complete your profile information (name, phone, job title)
  4. Upload your company logo (optional but recommended)
Admin Access

The first user to set up the account becomes the Company Administrator with full access to all settings and user management.

Step 2: Configure Your Company

Before adding team members, configure your company settings:

Basic Settings

  • Company Name - Your business name as it appears on reports
  • Address - Main office location
  • Phone - Primary contact number
  • Logo - Appears on exports and PDF reports

Cost Codes

Set up cost codes to track labor by type of work:

  • Navigate to Settings → Cost Codes
  • Add your standard cost codes (e.g., 001 - Concrete, 002 - Framing)
  • Assign default hourly rates if needed

Step 3: Create Your First Project

Projects in BLDR organize all your job site data. To create a project:

  1. Go to Projects in the main navigation
  2. Click + New Project
  3. Fill in project details:
    • Project name and number
    • Job site address
    • Start and estimated end dates
    • Project manager
  4. Click Create Project

Step 4: Add Team Members

Invite your team to join BLDR:

  1. Go to Settings → Users
  2. Click + Invite User
  3. Enter their email address and name
  4. Select their role:
    • Admin - Full access to all features and settings
    • Supervisor - Can create and edit all records, manage projects
    • Worker - Can create timesheets and view assigned projects
  5. Assign them to projects
  6. Click Send Invitation
Permission Tip

Start with restrictive permissions and expand as needed. You can always upgrade a user's role later.

Step 5: Install the Mobile App

BLDR is most powerful when used on mobile devices in the field:

iOS Installation

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Search for "BLDR Construction"
  3. Tap Get to download
  4. Open the app and log in with your credentials

Android Installation

  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Search for "BLDR Construction"
  3. Tap Install
  4. Open the app and log in
