Welcome to BLDR! This guide will walk you through setting up your account and getting your team started with construction management.
Step 1: Account Setup
When you first sign up for BLDR, you'll receive a welcome email with your login credentials. Here's how to get started:
- Open the email from BLDR and click the Activate Account button
- Create a secure password for your account
- Complete your profile information (name, phone, job title)
- Upload your company logo (optional but recommended)
The first user to set up the account becomes the Company Administrator with full access to all settings and user management.
Step 2: Configure Your Company
Before adding team members, configure your company settings:
Basic Settings
- Company Name - Your business name as it appears on reports
- Address - Main office location
- Phone - Primary contact number
- Logo - Appears on exports and PDF reports
Cost Codes
Set up cost codes to track labor by type of work:
- Navigate to Settings → Cost Codes
- Add your standard cost codes (e.g., 001 - Concrete, 002 - Framing)
- Assign default hourly rates if needed
Step 3: Create Your First Project
Projects in BLDR organize all your job site data. To create a project:
- Go to Projects in the main navigation
- Click + New Project
- Fill in project details:
- Project name and number
- Job site address
- Start and estimated end dates
- Project manager
- Click Create Project
Step 4: Add Team Members
Invite your team to join BLDR:
- Go to Settings → Users
- Click + Invite User
- Enter their email address and name
- Select their role:
- Admin - Full access to all features and settings
- Supervisor - Can create and edit all records, manage projects
- Worker - Can create timesheets and view assigned projects
- Assign them to projects
- Click Send Invitation
Start with restrictive permissions and expand as needed. You can always upgrade a user's role later.
Step 5: Install the Mobile App
BLDR is most powerful when used on mobile devices in the field:
iOS Installation
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad
- Search for "BLDR Construction"
- Tap Get to download
- Open the app and log in with your credentials
Android Installation
- Open the Google Play Store
- Search for "BLDR Construction"
- Tap Install
- Open the app and log in
Step 6: Start Using BLDR
You're ready to go! Here are the most common tasks to get familiar with:
- Creating your first Daily Log
- Submitting timesheets
- Running a safety meeting
- Capturing job site photos
